GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A two-vehicle crash on icy U.S. Highway 87 near Box Elder killed a 17-year-old Shawmut girl and injured a 30-year-old Havre woman.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the girl was northbound at 6:17 p.m. Sunday when she lost control of her car and collided with an oncoming car in the southbound lane.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (http://gftrib.com/1m2RWqn ) both were taken to the hospital in Havre, where the girl was pronounced dead. The extent of the woman's injuries was not immediately available.

Their names have not been released.
