Are Flowers Still The Go-To Way Out Of The Dog House For Dudes?

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for flowers. Not much into chocolate, not impressed by foo-foo jewelry but FLOWERS somehow melt my heart. From a friend, my dad, a dude...doesn't matter.

But the question is: Are flowers still the go-to gift for a guy to get himself out of the dog house when he does something stupid? What would be a better gift or peace offering in this day and age?
