As part of the Bozeman Parks & Recreation Department's Pickin' in the Parks series, 'Learning to Play in an Open Jam - Slow Jam' lessons will be offered the first Tuesday of every month (starting in October)...and they're free!

This class meets once a month and is designed to teach folks to play their acoustic string instruments at a jamming event (such as the Acoustic String Jam at the Story Mansion on Wednesday evenings). There will be discussion on how to play in an open jam, what songs to learn to build your repertoire, jam etiquette and how to blend and sound professional. This class will build your confidence and help you feel comfortable and ready to join in on a "real jam."

Open to all acoustic string instruments (such as guitar, mandolin, banjo, Dobro, fiddle and bass). This class is primarily for beginners, but also geared to those who can play but have never played in a jam setting before. All are welcome.
