Cage the Elephant fans will get one of the band's most extensive treks to date in support of their 'Melophobia' album this spring. The group, who opened for Muse and played numerous festival dates in the fall, are staging their own headlining trek in April and May.

The band will kick things off by taking part in the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 12 and 19 in Indio, Calif. They also have a pair of SoCal dates in between the festival shows and will use the high profile gigs as a springboard for additional headlining dates.

At present, the band has booked a number of the shows with J. Roddy Walston and the Business and they'll also join Foals for several shows during the run. Tickets for a majority of the gigs will be available this Friday (Jan. 24). Ticketing links for all of the stops will eventually be posted at this location. Beyond the upcoming trek, fans can also find the band taking part in the Firefly Festival in Dover, Del. the weekend of June 19-22.

In other Cage the Elephant news, the band's lead single from 'Melophobia' -- 'Come a Little Closer' -- continues to perform well. The band shot an interactive video for the song inspired by frontman Matt Shultz's drawings. You can contribute your own artwork to the video and all submissions are eligible for a chance to win an original signed drawing from the singer. Visit this location for further details.
