We're all cramming as much outdoor fun into our summer as possible. Do NOT forget that Montana does have its fair share of snakes, including rattlesnakes. We can't think of a quicker way for a good day to go south.

Sure he's good looking, but this cat is positively capable of murder. Now I understand why people turn into crazy cat people: They have to document their animals for fear of becoming a gruesome headline.
Big Sky Resort, Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and Dee-O-Gee are teaming up to host the 12th annual Snowshoe Shuffle this Saturday, March 5! This family event features a torch-lit snowshoe course with (or without) your dog, chili dinner and an exciting raffle to benefit the animal shelter. If you don't have snowshoes, no worries! The course is well groomed and can be hiked in a pair of winter boots. Details here.
The Livingston Police Department just posted information regarding a high-speed foot chase involving "a very nefarious character" named Jake. Jake was a dog on the run this morning after "causing mayhem" around the lagoon in Livingston. He tried to ditch an Animal Control Officer by crossing the ice. Not smart Jake, given the recent unseasonably warm temperatures. Luckily, thanks to Livingston's finest, this story ends peacefully. Don't be like Jake.
According to the Montana Fishing Film Festival, this movie was made by Travis Bradford. Entitled "The Montana Warmwater Project", it looks like one we can't wait to see (although 2016 dates for the Festival don't seem readily available).
