Let's face it -- as much as we identify with celebrities, we don't really know them. That's why public meltdowns, where they show their peevish, arrogant and sometimes crazy sides, are so darned fascinating. When this happens, our perception of celebs can change forever. Think about it -- will you ever be able to watch 'Braveheart' again without recalling Mel Gibson's racist rants? We think not.
The ad that Volkswagen plans to run during the Super Bowl this Sunday is being called racist. It's called "Get Happy", it portrays a white guy from Minnesota as the only happy person at his office job. He's happy, naturally, because he drives a VW Beetle. So happy, in fact, that he speaks in a Jamaican accent. Volkswagen is still not sure if they'll run the ad this Sunday after many people who previewed it online this week are calling it racist. Adele has not revealed the name of her first son since the baby was born last October, but a piece of jewelry worn by the British singer may have given the secret away. Adele was spotted wearing a necklace adorned with the name “Angelo” while shopping in West Hollywood this week, causing suspicion that the moniker is the name of her first born.
This is a big year for Rush, who will finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April after more than a decade of being turned down for the honor. And who will be on hand to deliver the induction speech for the legendary Canadian prog-rockers? None other than "self-professed Rush superfans" Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
