Weekends With Friends
I've said this before and will say it again many times before I die, but two of my favorite things on the planet are cold beer and good friends. My weekend was filled with both.

We tallied up all the new snow and it looks impressive. 20+ inches of dense snow in the mountains. There's a settled base of almost 30 inches which is mighty nice for this time of year. We've already heard of a few avalanches near Frazier Lake and Sacajawea Peak in the Bridgers, but these involved new snow. In other words, the slides are not breaking at the ground. So far so good. A solid base of hard snow bodes well for the winter. Chilly temps near zero are forecasted for the weekend, so we'll have to wait and see what changes that brings to the snow pack. Stay tuned...
I recorded an Orthodox Jew Rabbi yesterday—extremely pleasant guy, but he wouldn't shake my hand "for religious reasons". NO PROBLEM! Let's just celebrate the season together at the poker table, Rabbi!

I heard someone complaining yesterday about how fast Bozeman is growing, and how it is losing it's small town appeal. (Which I don't agree with.) I mean it is growing, but it's still one of the best places on the planet. I'm not a Bozeman cheerleader, I'm a guy that just got back from a week in Minneapolis. It's easy to forget how good we have it here.
It's election time in Bozeman, and things are heating up. There are three things that I have on my list of "greatest innovations" of the 21st century. The Keurig single-cup coffee maker, the DVR, and the ability to vote by mail in Montana. (I'm enjoying a cup now. I voted yesterday. I don't have a DVR.)
