July 13, 2011 I popped in a classic movie last night, 1980's The Gods Must Be Crazy. Still a great movie, still hilarious and probably more relevant than ever today. June 30, 2011 I recently posted about my simple requests for a happy July 4th but forgot to mention the importantance of reflecting this time of year. This dawned on me last night while watching Saving Private Ryan. Every year sometime between Memorial Day and July 4th I like to watch a good American war flick. I know a movie could never truly give a guy like me, who has never officially served our country, an insight into what that's like but it helps me remember why I have the rights and freedoms I do.

Last Saturday was Portland Oregon's version of the World Naked Bike Ride. World Naked Bike Ride is a globally observed event among hard-core bikers designed (get ready for this) to promote the use of bicycles for transportation. Nothing entices me to ride my bike more than seeing a naked person on a bike. That could be the number one thing you don't want to see anyone doing naked.
June 15, 2011 I'm sure most have heard the latest media buzz concerning actor/comedian Tracy Morgan, who at a recent comedy show in Nashville offended some with an anti-gay rant. I should probably leave this one alone but I can't help it. You were offended by Tracy Morgan's act? Had you never heard of Tracy Morgan and got the tickets as a gift?
June 9, 2011 It's the last day of school today for many, the official start of summer for the aforementioned many. Is tomorrow then the day that we turn that page? How long have we've been asking that? I know, I know. But school's out forever! It's crunch time now. Mother Nature, for the kid's sake, PLEASE!
June 1, 2011 I don't know if it's been the weather lately or a lack of sleep, but I've needed some restored energy. I've been a little uninspired lately and when that happens I usually need a creative outlet or a little bit of nature to redirect life's perspective (or dare I say purpose?). Well, we're in the right place for the latter so yesterday I got outside and got back in touch.
May 28, 2011 They absolutely killed it. That wasn't a show, it was a rock marathon. I didn't know they gave so much. 3 straight hours of passion-fueled Rock n' roll! I've never been to a show where the band tires out the audience.
By the end I think we were all ready (didn't have a voice left and was crashing from the 3 hour high). Anyway, here's the set list from one of the best shows I've ever seen.

May 23, 2011 I wasn't gonna go out on Saturday night but an 89-year-old evangelical preacher and radio host named Harold Camping predicted the RAPTURE would go down on Saturday (May 21st) and the world would come to an end, so I figured I should have a little fun just in case.
