It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! What music do you have filling your hearts and halls? I absolutely love the Christmas music specials on TV with the back up singers and wonderful decorations. My new favorite is 'A Michael Bublé Christmas.'
Mel Greig and Michael Christian, the Australian DJs whose prank call led to the suicide of a nurse at Kate Middleton's hospital last week, recently gave an interview to 'A Current Affair' in which they regretfully explained that they never meant for anything like that to happen.
The Decemberists made their previously announced visit to the town of Springfield on the Fox animated comedy 'The Simpsons' last night. The group sat in as the elementary school's new music teachers in an episode about the town becoming hipper when a couple -- played by 'Portlandia' stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein -- moves in from Portland with a pretentious son (comedian Patton Oswalt) in tow.
If you haven't seen this video yet, it's pretty hilarious and ear-opening. A spoof band from Australia called Axis of Awesome performs "4 Chords", a montage of pop songs that use the same 4-chord melody. An original way to show just how unoriginal most pop songs are.
First off, if you don't watch NBC's Parenthood, set the DVR immediately (seriously, right now). Secondly, if you missed last night's episode, watch this video immediately. It's also the season for nostalgia. Here's a few commercials that would have caught my eye as a kid...you know when toys were awesome!
I found this video under the title "Adorably Bratty Christmas Kids". Check it out and judge for yourself. I don't really find this that adorable. As the father of an 8-month old, I first thought, "Is this what I have to look forward to?" However, I'm chalking this up to some inferior parenting skills. What do you think?
Bob Costas does not have a fan in rocker Ted Nugent. During Sunday night's halftime commentary on NBC's 'Football Night in America,' the famed sportscaster quoted and paraphrased another sportswriter's argument for gun control in the wake of the murder-suicide by linebacker Jovan Belcher that rocked the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL on Saturday. Nugent spent Monday morning responding.
Christmas is celebrated all across the world in many different languages. We found how to say Merry Christmas in ten different languages and songs to go with each language! Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine joined rock icons the Rolling Stones onstage last night (Nov. 29) at the second of the band's two gigs at the O2 Arena in London, where the were celebrating 50 years of rocking and rolling. The old guard collided with the new in this hellfire performance. It was certainly a marriage of generations of English musicians.
