A flood warning continues until further notice for the Gallatin River near Logan. Ice jams are to blame for the warning. As of now the river is at 8.8 feet and flood stage is 9 feet. This video demonstrates a "river tsunami" on the Gallatin from earlier this winter.
Luckily for Mark Wahlberg, he has a successful career as an actor to fall back on, because, as this clip from 'Good Day Philadelphia' shows, he doesn't cut it as a weatherman.
If you're gonna explore the backcountry today, be prepared! The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center is issuing a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for the Southern Madison and Southern Gallatin Ranges and the Lionhead area near West Yellowstone. The avalanche danger is HIGH today on all slopes. Details here:
