This summer has been unusually hot, with record-breaking temperatures all over the country. But in a few months, we may be wishing for a little of that heat — forecasters are warning we should brace for a particularly harsh winter.
Fire Weather Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Tuesday evening for gusty winds and low relative humidity for
fire weather zones 114... 115... 117 and 118...

There is a Red flag warning in effect from noon today to midnight MDT

A Red flag warning remains in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
8 PM MDT Friday for low humidities... strong gusty winds... and wind
shift with a cold front for all of south central Montana... most of
southeast Montana... and parts of north central Wyoming...

You probably already know that this winter was one of the mildest the US has ever seen. And now it seems the trend of above-average temperatures is continuing.
A storm chaser from Illinois by the name of Jesse Risley was in Northern Montana on Tuesday evening when some severe weather hit. Risley caught a rare Montana tornado on video that struck Chouteau County near Big Sandy. Check it out.
