Radiohead, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar Reportedly Booked for Coachella 2017
The news comes courtesy of Consequence of Sound, whose report cites unnamed sources as saying the three acts will be on hand — and on top of the bill — when Coachella reconvenes next April 14 – 16 and April 21 – 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
As CoS notes, the festival isn't new territory for any of the artists. Radiohead, currently promoting its 2016 release A Moon Shaped Pool, headlined in 2004 and 2012, while Beyoncé, although never on the Coachella bill in her own right, made a pair of unannounced appearances on the Polo Club stage in 2010 and 2014. Lamar, meanwhile, played dual sets in 2012, performing downbill on his own as well as joining Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg during their portion of the program.
Just as with any other rumor, it's worth taking this report with a grain of salt — as CoS points out, Coachella reps "did not respond to our request for comment" — but it fits the festival's tradition of targeting critically lauded top sellers across the pop, rock, R&B, and hip-hop spectrum. It does represent a bit of a comedown from this year's lineup, which boasted hitmaker Calvin Harris as well as LCD Soundsystem and the highly touted partial Guns N' Roses reunion — but in the organizers' defense, how do you top a reunited GNR?
