On Oct. 21, the Dean Ween Group will release their first record, The Deaner Album. They have now unveiled the first single, “Mercedes Benz,” which you can find in the Soundcloud widget below.

“Mercedes Benz” is one of 15 songs on The Deaner Album, which, according to a press release, was recorded in a chicken coop in western New Jersey. “All the gear I’ve acquired over the years, that’s been in storage and my garage and my attic, it’s all in one place now,” he said. “Every guitar I’ve ever bought, every amp, every pedal, every effect, all in one place and it’s all getting used all the time, all the time. I’m there pretty much all day, every day, all night, every night, doing something – recording, practicing, mixing.”

Although he’s been working with his touring group comprised of three members of Ween (keyboardist Glenn McClelland, bassist Dave Drewitz and drummer Claude Coleman, Jr.) and guitarist Bill Fowler, Ween brought in upwards of 30 musicians to contribute, including Curt Kirkwood from the Meat Puppets, Scott Rednor, Mike “Kidd Funkadelic” Hampton and Chuck Treece.

The Dean Ween Group will also embark on a two-week tour — with the Meat Puppets as the opening act — for the second half of October. They will begin in Omaha, Neb. on Oct. 18 and wrap it up on Oct. 31 in Missoula, Mont. The dates are listed below, and you can get complete information at Dean Ween’s website.
