Nickelback was chosen to perform during the halftime show at this year's Thanksgiving game between the Packers and Lions in Detroit, much to the dismay of many local fans. The game will be nationally televised and apparently many Detroit natives don't want the rest of the country associating their city with the band. So much so, an online petition is making the rounds to replace Nickelback as the halftime show.

Here are just a couple amusing quotes in the form of further explanation from the petition:

"Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions?"

"This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs. The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime."

What is it about Nickelback that rubs people the wrong way? Do you care whether or not Nickelback plays the halftime show?
