“Better safe than sorry,” some people are writing before copying and pasting the newest “Facebook privacy notice.”

But just so you know, it is a hoax.

The claim is that posting a “legal notice” on your Facebook wall will protect your copyright and privacy rights. So people copy and paste, just in case. But don’t bother.

First off, according to snopes.com, the issue is a non-existent one.

Second, when you signed up for your account, you agreed to privacy and copyright terms, even if you didn’t read them in their entirety.
