Supreme Court expert Marcia Coyle will give MSU students a great opportunity to stay well informed and politically engaged as she broadcasts live via webcam for a discussion on America’s most pertinent current issues, from gun rights to campaign finance laws to same sex marriage.The MSU Department of Political Science will lead an afternoon of political discussion and civil discourse as Coyle, journalist, lawyer, and Chief Correspondent for the National Law Journal, sheds light on the current status of American politics.The discussion will be moderated by Professor Eric Austin of the MSU Political Science Department in conjunction with a host of student panelists. Austin teaches many classes on public administration and is currently researching psychoanalytic theory and phenomenology in public administration.Coyle has won several awards for her reporting and journalism. Such awards include the George Polk Award for legal reporting, the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award for outstanding investigative reporting, the American Judicature and Society’s Toni House Journalism Award for a career body of work involving coverage of the nation’s courts and justice system, and the Scripps-Howard Foundation Award for environmental journalism.Following the event, there will be a reception in the atrium of EPS.
