What were you doing on the night of Aug. 14th, 1997? If somehow you happened to be at the Gold Dollar club in Detroit, Mich. catching a little-known local band opening for Rocket 455 and ‘68 Comeback, you witnessed a historic event: the White Stripes‘ first-ever full live concert. And if you didn’t catch it, now is your chance to check it out, as Third Man Records is releasing a soundboard recording of the gig.

The vinyl 12″ record of the Stripes’ first concert will be paired with a 7″ recording of an even bigger rarity — the Stripes’  July 14th, 1997 (Bastille Day) open-mic night performance at the Gold Dollar — and will be made available as this season’s present for members of Third Man Record’s Vault subscription service.

The concert 12″ album features early renditions of Stripes tunes ‘Screwdriver’ and ‘Lafayette Blues,’ while the open mic gig 7″ features primitive takes on ‘St. James Infirmar,’ ‘Jimmy the Exploder’ and ‘Love Potion #9.’ Also included in the package will be a 12″ tote bag with the band’s iconic peppermint design and black-white-and-red color scheme.

It’s not too late to join Third Man’s subscription service to get this awesome package — you have until July 31 to sign up. Get all the details here.
