A day after announcing the impending arrival of their new Oczy Mlody album, the Flaming Lips have debuted the set's first single, "The Castle." They also announced Europe and North American dates for early 2017, which can be found below.

As previously reported, "The Castle" became available at midnight local time on Oct. 21 — shortly after the band officially confirmed the new LP. Due Jan. 13, 2017 — frontman Wayne Coyne's 56th birthday — the 12-track set follows 2014's Beatles tribute With a Little Help from My Fwends. The group's last album of original material, The Terror, arrived in the spring of 2013.

"The Castle" is available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon as well as for streaming through major services including Spotify. They've also released an official video that can be found above.

Rumors of a new Flaming Lips LP have circulated for some time. The band reportedly entered the studio in early 2016; more recently, band associate and visual artist George Salisbury leaked the album title, a Polish phrase that translates to "eyes of the young." Rumored song titles such as “One Night While Hunting for Fairies and Witches and Wizards to Kill,” “Listening to the Frogs with Demon Eyes,” and “Galaxy I Sink” have all since surfaced on the official track listing.

As with many current major releases, Oczy Mlody will be available in a variety of configurations. Aside from the standard physical and digital versions currently available for pre-order via major music retailers, the band is offering a limited-edition double colored vinyl LP through their official online store. In addition, fans who purchase the upcoming 7" release of the Lips' cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" — also out Jan. 13, 2017 — can take advantage of a bundle discount when also purchasing Oczy Mlody.
