This summer’s Billboard charts have pretty much belonged to Carly Rae Jepsen‘s ‘Call Me Maybe,’ but the previous Hot 100 champ — Gotye‘s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ — is still going strong, and still setting new records of its own.

This week, ‘Somebody’ is looking up at ‘Call Me Maybe’ on the Hot 100, where it’s hanging on at No. 6 (five spots below Jepsen’s song, which is the repeat champ at No. 1). But the Adult Contemporary charts, which tend to move more slowly than Top 40 playlists, tell a different story: this week, Gotye moves to No. 1 there.

The AC tally is just the latest in a long line of charts ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ has conquered; in fact, with this new achievement, Gotye becomes the first artist to have a song reach the top of (deep breath) Billboard’s Alternative Songs, Dance Club/Play Songs, Hot 100, Triple A, Rock Songs, Mainstream Top 40, Adult Top 40 and Dance/Mix Show Airplay lists.

With all that radio domination comes healthy sales, and as Billboard notes, this week brings a new milestone on that front, with ‘Somebody’ becoming the first song of 2012 to rack up more than 6 million paid downloads. Not bad for a guy whose name most people didn’t know how to pronounce a year ago.
