Green Day Guitarist Jason White Diagnosed With Treatable Form of Tonsil Cancer

Yesterday (Dec. 5), Green Day shared some upsetting news with their fans. While undergoing a routine surgery, the band’s lead guitarist, Jason White, found out he had a form of tonsil cancer.

“We have some news to report regarding our brother Jason White, and wanted you to hear it from us before word spread,” the band wrote on their website. “Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery.”

Green Day wrapped up the unfortunate announcement with a call to action for their fans: “Please join us in sending him love and positive healing vibes during this time.”
