Parts of Montana are seeing extremely strong storms this afternoon and a Significant Weather Advisory is in effect for Southern Wheatland for dime sized hail.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • AT 303 PM MDT... DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR HARLOWTON... MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.
  • DIME SIZE HAIL AND WINDS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.
  • LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... HARLOWTON... JUDITH GAP AND TWODOT.
  • THIS STORM MAY INTENSIFY... SO BE CERTAIN TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO AND TV STATIONS... AS WELL AS LOCAL CABLE TV OUTLETS... FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
