Human Bones Unearthed Northwest of Helena

An excavation crew working near Silver City northwest of Helena unearthed some old human bones.

Lewis and Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson tells The Independent Record the 30 to 40 bones were sent to the state crime lab in Missoula, but he believes they've been there for decades.

Nelson praised the crew for stopping the dig as soon as they spotted the bones on Monday.
