Montana Backcountry Alliance presents the second Hyalite Hoedown this Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Eagles Lodge in downtown Bozeman. This event, which features live music from Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs and a screening of "The Little Things," will help raise money for plowing the road to Hyalite Canyon and protect access to this treasured backyard resource.

Montana Backcountry Alliance is "a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting human powered winter recreation opportunities for the backcountry ski and snowboard community." The Hyalite Hoedown is a backcountry community celebration and fundraiser. All proceeds from this event will be dedicated to plowing the Hyalite road. Last year, Montana Backcountry Alliance contributed $1500 to plowing Hyalite road from proceeds raised at the Hyalite Hoedown.

This year's Hyalite Hoedown gets underway at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, and will combine both cinema and live music. The night kicks off with a screening of "The Little Things," a snowboard movie project based on environmentally conscious riders. Following the film, Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs will then bring their blues driven, bluegrass sound to the stage. There's a suggested donation of $10 - $20 per person.
