If you're gonna be home dishing out candy on Halloween this year, Charles Schulz's classic Halloween-themed Peanuts special, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" will air on ABC on October 31. Grown-up Halloween home-run? I think so.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" has aired almost every Halloween since its debut in 1966. This was an absolute must-see necessity for me as a kid. Loved it. I gotta say though, I watched it for the first time in a long time last year and I was a little angry with the gang, particularly Lucy (that biatch), for the way they treated Linus. I couldn't help but think, not the greatest lesson for kids. Why should he be treated so poorly for not following the crowd? If he wanted a solo chill in a pumpkin patch waiting for The Great Pumpkin then that's his thing. Individuality should be encouraged, not peer pressure and meanness.

Don't get me wrong here. I get it, it was the 60s. It's Peanuts and I still think it should air every year and be honored as the American classic that it is. It will always be special to me and bring me right back to the more simple, innocent world we knew as children. Just thought I would give you my honest thoughts as an adult watching it today. I'll be watching again this Halloween, plotting my revenge on Lucy! Tune in to ABC this October 31st.
