John Mayer has organized a benefit concert to help local firefighters who battled last summer's devastating Pine Creek fire that destroyed more than 8500 acres of forest and farmland in and around Livingston. John Mayer, Zac Brown Band and other special guests will perform at the Emerson Theater in Bozeman on Wednesday, January 16th. Tickets go on sale soon, details here:

It took local firefighters weeks to contain and eventually extinguish the devasting Pine Creek blaze that began on August 29, 2012. The community came together to help local fire and rescue departments contain the fire, so that it did not spread to houses and schools. Only five homes -  and no lives - were lost.

John Mayer said on his website,

Without the tireless effort and dedication of the firefighters of the Pine Creek Fire, many more homes and memories would have been destroyed, mine among them. I wasn't in town when the fire broke out and I've always wished I could do my part to help, the way so many in the community did. Putting on a concert to raise some money for the departments is the least I can do for a town and a community that has welcomed me with open arms.

The benefit concert will take place on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Emerson Theater. According to John Mayer's website, he will be joined onstage by Zac Brown and Clay Cook of Zac Brown Band. Also performing will be David Ryan Harris, Sean Hurley and Aaron Sterling among other special guests. Zac Brown and Clay Cook, along with long time band mate David Ryan Harris, will step in to add vocals for John Mayer.
