Liam Gallagher has released a video for his track “For What It’s Worth,” performed live in London’s iconic AIR Studios. It’s taken from the former Oasis frontman’s debut solo album As You Were, which will be launched on Oct. 6 via Warner Brothers. You can watch the video above.
Gallagher explained, “I wanted to write an apology – not to one person but to everyone, because I’m no good at saying sorry. That song is a tune.” He co-wrote the piece, not to be confused with the Buffalo Springfield song of the same name, with Simon Jons, while other collaborators on the LP include producer Dan Gregh-Marguerat and writers Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt.
Despite signing his one-man deal last year, Gallagher denied that he was “embarking on a solo career,” adding: “There are just 10, 11 songs I’ve written that are eligible to be recorded. They’ve got flair, attitude, the melodies are slick and the words are f––ing funny. It’s got all the right ingredients and sounds well tasty.”
While Liam’s next move after As You Were remain unknown, the chances of an Oasis reunion remain low. Gallagher launched a new attack on brother Noel in April, calling his sibling “the creepy 1 out of Oasis” and “a massive girl.” Liam and his band tour North America in November – around the time Noel’s High Flying Birds are expected to release an album.
