Fish, Wildlife & Parks will now be imposing a full closure to fishing effective Wednesday, July 31, on the Lower Big Hole River. Details here:

This closure on the Lower Big Hole is from the Notch Bottom Fishing Access Site (southeast of Glen) to the mouth, and will be implemented until conditions improve. Flows have continued to drop on this stretch of the Big Hole already under daily restrictions limiting fishing to the morning hours.

Biologists will continue to monitor the conditions on the Big Hole River and all southwest Montana rivers. It may be necessary to implement further restrictions and closures as the summer progresses.

Outfitters and anglers can stay up to date on all emergency angling restrictions online at fwp.mt.gov.
