The second Madison River Citizens Advisory Committee (MCAC) meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, June 13th at the El Western Conference Center in Ennis. MCAC continues their efforts to develop recommendations for managing recreation on the Madison River. The public will once again be welcome to attend this meeting and provide comments.

The Madison River is highly valued for the quality of its recreation opportunities, most notably fishing and floating. MCAC was formed after recent concerns were raised about congestion on the water and at access sites, as well as social conflict between different user groups. Members of the MCAC are now working toward developing recommendations for managing recreation on the Madison River. FWP will prepare a recreation management plan based on the recommendations of the MCAC and input from the public. FWP anticipates having a draft plan for public review near the end of this year or early 2013.

This Wednesday's meeting is scheduled for 3 - 8 p.m. at the El Western Conference Center in Ennis (4787 Highway 287 North). There will be time set aside near the end of the meeting for observers to provide comments to the committee.
