The Gallatin County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who was found dead inside a burning vehicle in Belgrade Tuesday morning.

Christopher Laxson was found dead in his vehicle in the driveway of his home on 8th Street.

At this time there is no indication of criminal activity, and the death remains under investigation by the coroner’s office, a news release states.

Central Valley Fire Department received a call at around 6:44 a.m. Tuesday of a vehicle fire in a residential driveway on 8th Street near the intersection of Frontage Road, Central Valley Fire Marshal Art Castricone said on Tuesday. A neighbor came out to leave for work and saw that the inside of the car was on fire, Castricone said.

A single engine responded from Central Valley. Responders discovered a deceased male in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The body was removed and the fire extinguished.

No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the fire, Castricone said.
