A 23-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he shot himself in the abdomen while spinning a gun around on his finger.

On Wednesday, Gallatin County Sheriff’s deputies went to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital to investigate the man’s gunshot wound, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department. The deputies determined that the man had been shot while playing with the gun, spinning it on his finger.

Witnesses at the scene drove the man to the emergency room. He did not sustain life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
