According to the AP, a never-before released Johnny Cash album, that was recorded in the '80s, is coming out this Spring. "Out Among the Stars" has guest performances from June Carter Cash and Waylon Jennings. Here's more:

"Out Among the Stars" is due out on March 25, 2014. It's a completed album (recorded during sessions in 1981 and 1984) that that Cash's record company, Columbia Records, simply decided not to release. Johnny saved the tapes and his family recently uncovered them.

It features two duets with wife June Carter Cash, and one with the great Waylon Jennings. There are reportedly two songs that Cash wrote, "Call Your Mother" and "I Came to Believe".

It doesn't sound like any changes are being made here or this is a bunch of sessions slapped together to make a buck. It simply sounds like a completed album that his record company never released. It's like we're getting a brand new Johnny Cash album 10 years after his death!
