A wise man once said, "Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar, well, he eats you." We can't help but wonder if guitarist and songwriter extraordinaire Noel Gallagher was really feeling that sentiment while working on the new High Flying Birds album, 'Chasing Yesterday.'

According to a press release, this album marks the first time the HFB frontman and former Oasis hooligan both wrote and produced an album. On recording the LP, the middle Gallagher son said the task wasn't always pleasant.

It was a major pain in the arse. It's not that I've ever had people telling me what to write or what direction to go in, but managing sessions from one end of the week to the other proved extremely difficult. I had all these people looking at me and saying: 'right, what are we doing today?' I was making the whole thing up as I went along.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will soon have tired arms when they fly to the U.S. for a tour this May. The band just released the dates of their stateside tour that will coincide with the release of the new album.
