October is Fire Prevention Month, and firefighters from across the Gallatin valley are working on community education to protect your home from a fire.

Local firefighters say there are several things you can do to save your home from a fire, namely installing smoke detectors in all hallways and bedrooms. Once you have detectors  installed, don't forget to check them and replace the batteries! Firefighters will be visiting community schools this month in an effort to further educate everyone on how to keep homes safe.

Our Bozeman Fire Department is here to serve and protect. To learn more about fire prevention and safety, visit www.bozemanfirefighters.org.
