State Section 16 in the Paradise Valley was put under emergency closure today by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks due to grizzly bear activity in the area and the presence of a fresh elk carcass.

State Section 16 is a piece of land southwest of Emigrant in Paradise Valley (approximately three miles up Big Creek). This closure applies to all recreational activity and is expected to last through Friday, November 7. FWP is closely monitoring the situation.
