Closing out Big Sky Resort's 40th anniversary year, and marking the finale of another ski season, is the 11th annual Pond Skim. Pond Skim 2014, presented by Pabst Blue Ribbon, is Saturday, April 19.

Pond Skim 2014 - Saturday, April 19 at 3 pm near the base of Ramcharger chairlift on the Ambush ski run

Big Sky Resort's Pond Skim participants will once again attempt to ski or snowboard over a glacier blue pond built by the terrain park team. This year's pond design will be revealed on the morning of April 19 and bound to be a crowd pleaser with surprise hurdles, jumps and floating obstacles.

Pond Skim participation is encouraged with a registration cost of $25 per person and is limited to 100 individual participants. Everyone is encouraged to dress in costumes and cheer on each participant as they try the daunting task of crossing the chilly waters on skis or snowboard. This event usually draws over 5,000 spectators.

Participants register between 11 am - 12 pm at the Summit Clock Tower. The Pond Skim after party will be at Whiskey Jack's with live music by Milton Menasco, followed by Bottom of the Barrel.

Big Sky Resort's last day of the season is Sunday, April 20. Easter Sunrise Service will be offered by the Big Sky Chaplain's Association's Brad Lartigue on Sunday at 7 am at the top of the Swift Current chairlift. Complimentary chairlift loading starts at 6:30 am.
