Pope Francis I Elected: Rockers React

After weeks of continuous media scrutiny, there is now a new pope as Buenos Aires Cardinal Jorge Bergogolio has taken the title, going under the moniker Pope Francis I.
The news was revealed Wednesday as white smoke emerged from the Vatican, signifying that a new pope had been chosen. Not long after, Pope Francis I emerged onto the balcony where he was greeted by thousands of people packed into St. Peter’s Square to catch the first sight of the new papal leader.
As expected, there was plenty of reaction in the media, and rockers such as Ozzy Osbourne and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian offered their commentary on the selection, which can be read in the tweets below.

The 76-year-old Bergogolio even chimed in himself on Twitter, reactivating the papal account to announce his arrival. Bergogolio was the first pope ever to take his name after St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology.
