The late Prince‘s ascendance to pop royalty will be the subject of a brand new documentary, Screen Daily has reported.

The rock icon, who died in April at 57, will be front and center in the forthcoming Prince: R U Listening?, which is due out in 2017. Directed by Michael Kirk, who also worked on the upcoming Find Your Groovethe film will explore Prince’s early rise to fame and feature interviews with Bono, Mick Jagger, Sheila E, Lenny Kravitz, Billy Idol and members of Prince’s band (guitarist Dez Dickerson and bassist André Cymone, just to name a couple).

The movie’s due out in the second quarter of next year, but distribution group Ascot Elite Entertainment hasn’t yet unveiled an official plan.

The news comes after an October Billboard story confirmed a Purple Rain deluxe edition, which will include a handful of unreleased tracks, is set for release in early 2017. A greatest-hits album called Prince 4Ever was released on November 22 and includes the previously unreleased “Moonbeam Levels,” which was recorded in 1982 and has so far only available on bootlegs.
