There's nothing worse than having an annoying song stuck in your head. Of course, that won't happen if you keep it on 95-1 The Moose. But, if and when it does, scientists have finally figured out a way to get you some peace:

Dr. Ira Hyman, a music psychologist at Western Washington University, just finished a study that reveals the best way to get a song out of your head. All you have to do is solve a puzzle that's 'sort of' hard.

Apparently, when a song is stuck in your head, it's because that song is dominating your working memory. When you force your brain to concentrate on something else, like a Sudoku puzzle or a video game, you can push the song out. Remember to pick a puzzle or game that is not too easy or too hard (otherwise it won't engage your mind enough).
