Seven Earthquakes Reported Near Manhattan in Past 30 Days

Manhattan, a small town just west of Bozeman has experienced seven earthquakes measuring 2.5 or more on the Richter scale in the past 30 days.

The first earthquake was reported October 10, 2018, and since then, six additional earthquakes have been reported. The largest of the quakes occurred on October 16, 2018, and measured a magnitude of 3.3.

On Friday, November 2, two additional earthquakes were reported near Manhattan. The first measuring 2.9, and the latter measuring 2.8.

The recent seismic activity is the most felt in the Manhattan area in over 20 years. In fact, according to the USGS website, no earthquakes of 2.5 or more have been reported in Manhattan since 1998.
