Sunday Brunch- 6.26.11- Sweet Sounds of Summer
Vootie has been with Bozeman for a long time. The entire time the Moose has been in existence, Vootie has been right there with us bringing you great music and fantastic live shows. Vootie is celebrating its 20th Birthday this Summer right along with the Moose. Acts from Dave Matthews at the Cats Paw before they hit it big to Shawn Colvin, Steve Earle, David Wilcox, Richard Thompson, Patty Griffin, Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, Dwight Yoakum, Chris Smither, Lucy Kaplansky, Martin Sexton, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Wilco, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Taj Mahal, David Grisman Quintet, John Prine, , Hot Tuna, Ratdog, The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Bela Fleck, Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Cliff, Branford Marsalis, Joan Baez, REM, Widespread Panic and Phish etc... the list goes on and on. The Captain of this ship is Tom Garnsey aka. Capt Vootie and Bozeman is lucky to have him. He has been a big part of why a lot of us love this place so much. Bridget, his awesome partner and wife, and Tom have added so much fun to our lives. Vootie also puts together the Targee Bluegrass and Music Festival each Summer at Grand Targee Resort in Wyoming, is assisting with the NEW Red Ants Pants Music Festival in White Sulpher Springs and heads up a local band called the Hooligans.
Mucho appreciation, thanks and a salute to you Capt. Vootie for adding so much to Bozeman over the years! Happy 20th Birthday to you!
The latest coo and feather in Vooties cap is the latest booking of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings at the Emerson on July 18th at 8:00 p.m. tickets at www.vootie.com and at Cactus records in downtown Bozeman.
