New data from the Highway Loss Data Institute, which uses auto insurance claims to track the cars most likely to be stolen or broken into, says the most popular car with thieves is the Cadillac Escalade.

It’s the fourth year in a row the luxury SUV has topped the list, with about 10 of every 1,000 Escalades on the road falling victim to criminals. In a statement, Escalade maker GM said a number of theft-deterrent systems, such as sensors and better steering column locks, have been added to newer Escalades to combat the problem.

Apparently, the Lithuanian city of Vilnuis has a problem with cars — in particular luxury cars — parking in its bike lines.

Citizens have taken to posting pictures of these illegally parked cars on social media. In response to the public outcry, Vilnuis mayor Arturas Zuokas staged an event in which he used an armored personnel carrier to crush a Mercedes Benz which had been parked in a bike lane .

To help market the new Picanto, the smallest car in its fleet, auto manufacturer Kia put together a stop-motion animation film — on fingernails.

The project took 1,200 bottles of nail polish and 900 artificial nails. Artists spent two hours painting each one, working around the clock for 25 days straight to create the world’s first nail art animation.

Earlier in the week, a massive storm dumped almost 12 inches of rain in less than hour on Montreal, causing the city’s sewer system to swell. In this amateur video shown on ‘Today,’ a cameraman filmed as a geyser of water blew off a manhole cover and lifted a parked car into the air.

The geyser started slowly at first, lifting the car only inches off the ground. But eventually, a massive torrent of water exploded from the sewer system and hoisted the backend of the vehicle several feet off the ground.

Traffic congestion Southern California? Not for these toy cars. Things move along pretty briskly in this demonstration of California artist Chris Burden‘s “Metropolis II,” an installation that features more than 1,100 Hot Wheels cars and 13 toy trains in perpetual motion. It’s a big step up from “Metropolis I,” which had a mere 80 cars. In part deux, each car passes through the tiny city about 90 times every hour. This 18-lane mega-model took a team of 12 over four years to construct in Burden’s Topanga Canyon studio.
