Coldplay's 'A Rush of Blood to the Head': Best Album of All Time, BBC Listeners Say

Coldplay's 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' has been named the favorite album of all time by BBC radio listeners. The 2002 album tops an eclectic list that also finds Keane's 2004 record 'Hopes and Fears' standing tall at the No. 2 spot, beating out classics from the likes of the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and Queen. The top album was revealed today (April 1) by DJ Jo Whiley at the end of a countdown that ran throughout the day.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin had a bit of explaining to do after making headlines with hints of a coming hiatus. Martin recently told an audience in Australia that the group might not be back for three years, and it sent fans into a hand-wringing tizzy. The singer has since clarified his statement, explaining that the band is taking a break from global touring, not from making music. In fact, he's already crafting new tunes.

You'll have to wait until sometime in the fall to hear Coldplay's fifth studio album, from which the Moose is currently playing the first single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall". I thought this was pretty cool though, tomorrow night (June 25th) VH1/Palladia will provide you with a look at "Coldplay-Live From Glastonbury". This will be the first time in the festival's 41-year history that a full concert will be broadcasted on U.S. television.
