Recently, it was announced that the city of Warren, Ohio planned to honor one of its own — Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl — by presenting him with a pair of 900-pound drumsticks. The celebration took place yesterday (July 7), and while Grohl wasn’t able to attend, he found another way to express his sincere gratitude for the enormous gift.

Foo Fighters‘ Dave Grohl reportedly left one lucky bartender at the Smith and Wollensky restaurant in Philadelphia’s swanky Rittenhouse Square Hotel something that would definitely fall into the latter category recently when he reportedly laid down $1,000 after ordering a single drink. Yes, you read that correctly — that’s a one followed by three zeros for just one drink.
At Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, the Foo Fighters won five trophies — but it was the speech Dave Grohl gave after they picked up the prize for Best Rock Performance that lit up the interwebs. Now Grohl has written a lengthy clarification.

During pre-concert rehearsals, as the two were warming up with Foo Fighters/ex-Nirvana guitarist Pat Smear, Grohl realized something special was about to happen.
February 21, 2011 I'm so excited to get a taste of the Foo Fighters new album. The album and all of the tracks have now been named and it is due out in April. I'm very intrigued to hear this album,apparently it was recorded entirely on analog tape in Dave Grohl's small garage. Rumor has it that this old school approach has given the band it's best recorded sound ever. I won't have to wait long for that taste, the first single is due out in days.
