January 4, 2012 Nickelback is catching some heat lately. First, an entire city petitioned to stop the band from performing there (many Detroit residents were less than pleased to learn that Nickelback was selected as the halftime entertainment for this year's Lions/Packers Thanksgiving game).
As we told you a while back, Detroit Lions fans aren’t too happy about Nickelback playing the halftime show during their game on Thanksgiving. In fact, fans hate the idea.
Now the band has answered all those haters who signed an online petition.
November 4, 2011 Nickelback was chosen to perform during the halftime show at this year's Thanksgiving game between the Packers and Lions in Detroit, much to the dismay of many local fans. The game will be nationally televised and apparently many Detroit natives don't want the rest of the country associating their city with the band. So much so, an online petition is making the rounds to replace Nickelback as the halftime show.
