There were lots of surprises and notable snubs but in all the nominations there are lots of interesting facts, you might not know. The 2013 Oscar nominations were announced this morning by Oscar host and 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane and 'Gangster Squad' star Emma Stone at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. MacFarlane is the first Oscar host to actually announce the nominees since Charlton Heston's turn in 1972. So who are the 2013 Oscar nominees? Who were the big surprises and the big snubs? Find out!

Is Eddie Murphy In Talks to Host the Oscars?

Sources close to Academy Awards officials say comedian and actor Eddie Murphy is being considered to host the Oscars in February.

The move is seen as an effort to return to basics — in other words, have one funny act head up the entire ceremony. In years past, the Academy has experimented with different hosting ideas, culminating in the somewhat questionable move this year that saw actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway emceeing what many called a disastrous show.

There weren't a whole lot of surprises at the 83rd Academy Awards -- as expected, "The King's Speech" took the big prize as Best Picture. The film about King George VI overcoming his stutter also garnered a Best Actor statue for Colin Firth and a Best Director win for Tom Hooper.

"King"'s four statuettes tied "Inception," which also nabbed four awards in technical categories, for the most Oscars.

Oscar favorite Natalie Portman also took home the Best Actress statuette for her role in "Black Swan," and Melissa Leo and Christian Bale of "The Fighter" cleaned up in the supporting role categories.
