Don't you wish the Ski Swap wasn't just a once a year thing? Or maybe that you could always find someone who was also driving up to the mountain? I found a Facebook page today, or i guess they found me, for a group that hopes to make a community out of the Gallatin Valley Skiers and Snowboarders. The page is called Bozeman Ski/Snowboard Society.
I attended and documented the Redbull sponsored film “Art of Flight” by Brain Farm productions this last Monday the 7th of November at the Emerson theatre. I was just as stoked as the rest of the crowd to get in on the latest and greatest in what Red Bull and their crack team of filmers and riders had to offer, but I was not quite prepared for what ensued.
The Associate Press reported that 38 year old Big Sky native, Matthew Jamie Pierre, was killed in an avalanche while snowboarding near the Gad Valley in Utah.
What happens to the ski and snowboard lifestyle when La Nina comes through and dumps endless amounts of snow? Is there such a thing as too much snow? Not for these powder hounds. I don't know if you have ever been skiing or boarding in the state of Utah but it is something every mountain enthusiast has to experience. Andrew McLean, a local to the Utah Mountains, gives us an in depth look into three of the to mountains in Utah. Park City, Deer Valley, and The Canyons. I get a unique feeling from each mountain I visit and while I've only skied The Canyons from those three, I've gotta say it was truly different.
