Southern Gallatin and Madison counties continue to get lots of snowfall and the Winter Weather Advisory now continues until 5am Saturday morning with several more inches of fresh snow possible.
Be patient. It's coming eventually. HWY 20 out of West Yellowstone (headed to Targhee Pass) is getting much needed lane safety improvements...starting in 2023.
Southern Madison and Gallatin counties could see 5" or more above 6500 feet by mid-day Saturday. Slippery roads may be an issue if you're traveling south to Idaho.
Starting Monday, May 11th, you'll encounter some single lane closures on HWY 191 between Big Sky and West Yellowstone as part of the "North of West Yellowstone project".
The investigation is ongoing and Sheriff Gootkin can only comment on the information covered in the Affidavit of Probable Cause, which is public information.
