A 22-year-old man faces forgery and other charges related to the theft of about $30,000 he said he used to support his drug addiction.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports David Terrance Wilson turned himself to Bozeman police on Friday and confessed to several crimes.

Prosecutors say Wilson forged his father's signature to obtain a credit card on which he ran up $18,000 in charges in Las Vegas. Wilson also told police he wrote checks on his father's closed business account totaling nearly $5,700 and forged his father's signature as co-signer on a $2,000 student loan.

Charging documents say Wilson wrote himself a check for $1,000 on another of his father's accounts and wrote checks on his own closed bank account.
