Winter and spring are in full battle mode.  In the valleys spring has the upper hand and any snow that falls is short lived.  Life is being breathed into dormant tulips in my front yard.  In the mountains, winter still reigns king, although his days are numbered.  Lots of snow--anywhere from 1-2 feet, has fallen at the upper elevations since Saturday.  Strong westerly winds blew too.  Consequently we're concerned about wind-loaded slopes since they are the most likely to avalanche.  Snow and avalanche conditions change rapidly,  so get the the most updated information at www.mtavalanche.com.  We're forecasting through Sunday, April 10th.  Like winter, our days are numbered too.
