BUTTE, Mont. (AP) — A 20-year-old Twin Bridges man has pleaded not guilty to a vehicular homicide charge filed in the death of a passenger in a rollover crash.

The Montana Standard reports (http://bit.ly/19eOGSA ) Tanner Wesley Eggers entered his plea Monday in District Court in Virginia City.

Eggers was charged after a Sept. 8 rollover crash near Twin Bridges that killed 19-year-old Michael Pfertsh of Twin Bridges. Investigators say Pfertsh was riding in the back of Eggers' pickup truck at 3 a.m. when Eggers failed to negotiate a curve.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the truck went off the road and came to rest on its side. Pfertsh was pinned under the truck and died.

Prosecutors also charged Eggers with three misdemeanor counts of negligent endangerment for injuries suffered by other passengers.
